Working in partnership with employers
ITeC endeavours to provide a brokerage between employers and learners. Central to this is understanding employers’ needs and designing programmes to prepare individuals for employment. The focus of the ITeC’s work is to equip learners with the personal and work-related skills to meet the needs of employers. The ITeC has taken a number of innovative approaches to achieve this, including preparing individuals to undertake work experience placements and job trials.

Future plans
In the coming months, ITeC plans to rebrand its services, emphasising our work in preparing individuals who face multiple barriers to employment and career development. The future focus of the ITeC’s work will emphasise

  • Enhanced employer links
  • Work with schools to develop vocational training provision
  • The use of e-learning and the intranet to enhance services
  • Providing post-employment support to former learners to help them develop their careers
  • Work with employers to develop their existing workforce through Train to Gain
